On 4th November, Honorary Presidents Howard and Sue Green officially opened Shree Ramkot Secondary School. This project was funded by the Isle of Man Government’s International Development Fund.
The new school replaces the previous building that was destroyed during the 2015 earthquake that hit Nepal. This project provided a new, 2-storey, 6-room building to improve the learning conditions for over 400 students at the school.
Howard Green, MBE said “It is great honour to be able to open another project supported by the IOM Government. They have been supporters of our work for many years and through their generosity we have provided many high quality and earthquake resilient schools in the rural communities of Nepal”
The project has also been supported by students from Chew Valley School who visited the community during the summer of 2019 and helped to complete the project though painting and finishing activities. Alan Sweetman, Executive Director of PTN UK said "We are very grateful for the help provided by the students and teachers of Chew Valley School and hope this will be the start of an ongoing relationship with the school and people of Nepal".
